I'm noticing a trend in this. All the good ones are expensive as fuck and all the shitty ones not worth buying are reasonably priced.

Also what would you recommend for a magrider? Currently rolling mag burner and some ammo upgrades for my default guns.

Is it really that bad on an AMD rig?  And yeah your firewall should not be an issue if set up properly.

Having played over 200 hours on Natural Selection 2 already I've decided it be a good time to host a NS2 server. I'd have done so sooner if not for the insane server specs required to run it properly.
Now that I've updated the server to an I5 3750k along with 16 gig of rams, performance should not be an issue.

NS2 being an unique game as it is with a friendly community all round and strong emphasis on team work.  Not to mention the fantastic modding possibilities to keep the game going for years to come. This should make for a good community game and one of the few games I actually spend a lot of time playing of late.
The goal as always will be to provide a friendly playground for people and provide a smooth gaming experience.

In the future when the server runs well I'd also like to have a go at testing some custom maps which is fairly effortless for the end user due to the steamworkshop integration.

DISABLED FOR NOW - Running the following mods:

DAK Admin Kit - Allows you to RTV, UNSTUCK etc.
NS2 Stats - shiny player stats so you can boast.

I'm still looking for a few active NS2 players to admin the server. I've posted a thread in the admin forum for web panel details. Since most of the current admins are not NS2 players I'll be looking for a few to help keep the server administrated.

AutoHotKey - Used this way back for SAMP, haven't used it in ages. Macro's are pretty useful and sometimes I do feel lacking in that department. Might just check this out again.
RivaTuner - Never used but AFAIK it's the Nvidia equivalent of Radeonpro.
Free Password Manager - I used to use this, I switched to lastpass. Better overall but some might be afraid of the CLOUD storage of passwords.
Aquasnap. - AMD has something like this in the catalyst drivers, never used it. Don't think I need to with more then 1 monitor.

Virtual Audio Cable - I can vouch for this, awesome program and kicks stereomix in the butt.

Enjin In-Game Overlay - Wow another game buddy tool, I'm surprised these are still being made. I gave up on all those programs with the coming of steam. That being said those who are interested in programs like this might also want to check out RAPTR or the more known xfire.
7zip - Simply the best really, I never bother using anything else. 7zip is free and minimal layout making it great to work with.

I'll make a proper list of all the less known tools that are posted at some point. It's usually the small less known programs that happen to be insanely awesome and useful.

Flawless Widescreen Must have tool for changing your FOV in certain locked games and screen ratio.
RadeonPro AMD only tool for configuring game profiles on a game by game basis, also has some other neat tools like FPS monitor.
Msi Afterrburner A tool to monitor GPU temps, set personal Fan speeds and OC.
FileZilla Solid FTP program, also has a server.
Winmerge Comparing or merging code made easy.
ffsplit A solid livestream program that's free? Yup!

Display Fusion The best multi monitor program, IMO better then ultramon and it's cheap for a lifetime license.
Log Fusion Real time monitoring of any log file, fantastic for server owners or those who want to debug real-time from txt files.
Pinnacle Game Profiler Add controller/joystick support to a game that does not support it native, does a great job at it as well.
Goldwave My favorite record and sound edit tool.

Most of you have at some point played DayZ and loved/hated it. All for good reasons, the game has some fantastic charms but also some insanely frustrating situations.
For me this was mostly the amount of bugs resulting in lame deaths or the vast amount of hackers that controlled the entire world.

I know a lot of you also dislike the death-match that it's turned into and would like some more grouping to come back to the game.  Now I can't say for sure that DayZ will provide the latter but the former will be fixed. The latter is also being worked on in the form of making the game more gruesome and hardcore then it already was. This means that going out alone and being a mean old bandit shooting people is going to be much tougher as the game will force you to be on the move more.

I was pretty skeptical about DayZ but the recent very sincere interview with Rocket showed a lot of potential and got me excited for the game.  Not just the amount of features/plans he's announced for DayZ and it's future but also about the mistakes he's made towards server hosters. His behavior in general is something he reflects back on which greatly reduces his "douche" vibe I got from him  browsing the forums.

Now it's a fairly lengthy interview but I strongly suggest anyone who has played DayZ and has enjoyed it at one point to check it out.

Eurogamer Expo 2012: Dean Hall on DayZ Standalone

You must admit, DayZ was mighty frustrating at times but also brought some of the must awesome tense moments of 2012.

First of one day is way too short term. Give people a week at the minimum for obvious reasons.
Besides that as I already pointed out in the PM I don't mind stepping down from the leader position in GW2, that being said I also see no gain in doing so.

I also don't see any gain in kicking inactive members, it's an mmo not a clan. There should be no commitments you make towards a guild at any time.

Let's say me or Fly don't play GW2 for another few months and then a shiny new patch comes out that makes us interested in it again. By then we'll fire up the game only to find out we're not in a guild and have to go through the hassle of contacting someone just to get back in.

Now if you guys want to remove people to make the guild look more "active" or w/e you guys got in mind I really don't mind. Just curious about the reasoning as to why and for what purpose.
